Muriel Naim is an Israeli-Iranian Director / Writer of film, television and theatre based in NY & LA.

Muriel's films delve into the cores of the human condition, explore taboo, emotion, and transgression through visceral storytelling, and provoke the classical narrative structure. She likes to get to the gut of the stories she tells and is especially tenured in working with actors of all ages & bringing bold visions to life.

Muriel graduated from the AFI Conservatory with an MFA in Directing, where she was awarded the prestigious Irwin & Sheila Allen Scholarship and was mentored by Oscar-winning Director Asghar Farhadi. Prior to this, she graduated with honors from Thelma Yellin School of Arts in Tel Aviv, where she was mentored by the esteemed Israeli-Lithuanian theater director Arthur Kogan. At 18, her theatre production "Jubilee" was selected to be presented at the National Theatre. While studying in the Film Directing program at CalArts - her first stop in L.A. - Naim wrote, directed, and shot the award-winning five-minute short Javier. The film was selected to open the 2016 Annual Film Directors Showcase at REDCAT, and has since been distributed to several international companies. Her film Janek / Bastard received multiple directing awards and was screened in 50+ film festivals worldwide. Muriel is currently developing an original TV series for A&E and working with BSEG and BAFTA on a limited series for Amazon Studios.
